Support the Theatre

Licklog Players depends on the generosity and support of its patrons to produce high-quality productions. Whether it’s donated money or goods, as a non-profit organization, Licklog Players is appreciative of all support it receives. There are multiple methods of contributing to the theatre and donations are tax-deductible.

I. General Operating Funds
There are many costs to produce a play, including sets, costuming and royalties. In addition there are costs associated with keeping the theatre running that may not be so evident, such as  building repairs, utilities and insurance. Your cash contribution helps us continue the tradition of building community theatre.

Licklog Players is a membership organization. Donations of at least $25 per year or 10 hours of volunteered time qualifies a supporter for voting privileges at our Annual Meeting.

II. The Licklog Players’ Endowment Fund

What is an Endowment Fund?
An endowment fund is long-term financial planning vehicle, which allows donors to make tax-deductible donations that will be instrumental to the future viability and improvement of community theatre and arts education in our area. At a point in the future only a portion of the income from the investment will be used to sustain the artistic and capital requirements of Licklog Players, while the principal is allowed to grow.

Why an Endowment Fund?
Licklog Players has always relied on of a stream of income independent from shows and current donations for capital improvements and upkeep of the theatre. Setting up this endowment under The Clay County Community Foundation and its umbrella organization, The North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF), has allowed Licklog Players to take advantage of the tax and regulatory opportunities usually only available to much larger 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations.

NCCF provides a way for donations to be converted to maximum-growth investments that will help provide stability for Licklog Player’s community theatre activities long into the future.

  Donating Goods
Our need for costumes and props is on going, and you may have a great hat from the 1920’s or a 1963 television set that you don’t need. If you find an old step ladder or a nice framed picture when you’re spring cleaning, think about how it would look on Licklog Players’ stage! Donations of goods are tax deductible.

Georgia Mountain Fair Ice Cream Booth
This is our major source of community income and our major fundraising event. In July, look for sign-up sheets in the theatre lobby to volunteer to dip ice cream or call 828-8632 or our toll free 1 877-691-9906 between the hours of 9 a.m and 1 p.m. Mon. thru Fri.
